A full interior reconception of a high-floor apartment for two collectors, built around a single instruction: let the work and the water be the only loud things in the room.
The original plan was generous but badly resolved — a long service corridor cut the apartment in half and the best light landed in the least-used rooms. We removed four walls, relocated the kitchen inward and gave the entire western edge to living, so the sea reads as a continuous horizon from the moment you enter.
The palette is almost monastic: warm off-white walls, wide-plank oak, a single band of travertine at the entry threshold. Every element that could compete with the art was either removed or absorbed into flush joinery. There are no visible handles anywhere in the apartment.
Lighting was designed as three independent layers — a low ambient wash, discreet picture lighting on a separate circuit, and warm task pools at 2700K. At night the apartment can be dimmed to the point where only the collection is lit.

Handleless throughout
Every cabinet, wardrobe and service door is push-latch or shadow-gap pull. The apartment reads as continuous surface.
A single horizon
Removing the service corridor gave an uninterrupted 21-metre sightline from entry to the western glazing.
Collection lighting
Museum-grade, individually circuited picture lighting with adjustable beam angles, integrated flush into the ceiling plane.
They removed far more than they added, which took some persuading. It was the right call. The apartment is quiet in a way I did not know a home in Worli could be.
